Where to go to eat in and around Troncones
Restaurant Guide to the Troncones / Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa Areas
Here are some restaurants in the area we like. This is by no means a complete list of all of the many fantastic eateries in the area. If you have some more suggestions you'd like to add, please let us know.
Roberto's Bistro is on the south end of the beach. They have a sea turtle rescue program right there and delicious Argentinian "parrilladas" of grilled sausages and meats. They also have small rooms for rent that are no-frills but economical and comfortable.
Cafe del Sol is just north of the "T." During the day, downstairs is open for breakfast and lunch (get a deli sandwich to go if you'd like as well,) and in the evenings the upstairs bar is open. Great wood-fired pizza and tacos.
Mine's Cenaduria is a hidden gem. She is open Thursday evenings for pozole and tamales and Saturday and Sunday evenings for tacos. Absolutely delicious food at ridiculously low prices. Coming from the north, get onto the dirt access road the runs parallel to the highway (along the right side) after the first tope. From the south, take a left and then an immediate right onto this dirt road at Herreria Garcia. Seriously... a can't miss.
If you take the old highway towards Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, you will see signs for Tiburon de la Costa. Although not beachfront, this restaurant has a nice ambiance and delicious food at reasonable prices. Open for comida only.
Fishers in the marina is one of our favorites. Great view of the yachts in the harbor, relaxing atmosphere, good music, and delicious seafood... what more could you ask for?
The Pancake House, located on Calle Ejido downtown, offers yummy breakfasts and lunches at reasonable prices.
